our christmas cards

This past Saturday morning I woke up early (reluctantly after a late night out for my neighbor's birthday) to stuff, stamp, and seal all of our Christmas cards. My goal was to have them all complete before noon so that I could get them in the mail and on their way to our friends and family. I made a big mistake of not double checking the number of people on our contact list before ordering the cards, because I didn't quite get enough. I could have easily used another 25, but oh well, there is always next year.

As you can see, we picked our favorite family picture from our recent photo shoot for this year's card. I love how they turned out and all, but I can't help to think of what is missing every time I look at them... We're just not complete. I wish Heidi, Lily, Paige and Rylan were in our family photo too...

  1. The first thing I thought when I looked at the photos was that the beautiful snowflakes at the front ARE Heidi, Lily, Paige and Rylan and what a beautiful way to remember them. I am so sorry they aren't with you for Christmas but they will be remembered and loved. xxxx

  10. that is a beautiful photo and a beautiful card. but i know what you mean about it not feeling right with so many names missing. this year i had to put "love, the finn family" because i could not bear to send out cards without vivian and annemarie's names on them...but then i couldn't include their names either because they're not here. it's just hard no matter how you word it or what you say. (((hugs)))

  12. Lauren,

I admire you for even sending cards this year. It's one of the things that I always love to do, but I just didn't have it im me this year. Perhaps, I had envisioned Christian's little photo on our cards too many times....maybe next year :)

Love your cards, so sweet, and your angels are with you always. Your strength is amazing and you honor your babies by going forward with your life, honoring and remembering them each step of the way.

    Hugs,
    Andrea

  14. Your photo turned out really great! It's hard not to think about what is missing in the picture. Their sweet faces would've made it so much better. This year we didn't do a family photo to send out. We'll take one around Christmas to have though. We sent out a collage of Carleigh.

  15. there are many ways to include your babies in photos... my husband and I had a bear we got from buildabear that was in most of our photos together or her photo was in our photo too. I need another bear though, for my husband, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to go get one for him. I guess at some point it gets silly, it would be me, two bears and a dog in a family portrait now.
