23 Week Update

How many weeks? I am 23 weeks!  I’ve officially entered into uncharted territory; I’ve never been this pregnant before!!  I am so thankful for every day that goes by, every kick that I feel, every positive doctor update, ultrasound, etc!  I can’t believe that she’s now well over 1 pound and about 11 inches long!

 23.1

How am I feeling?  Really good!  I’ve been feeling more and more Braxton Hicks, but I think that’s normal.  Its not anything that is repetitive or gets more intense over time.  I am still chugging away on my water ever day and peeing all the time!  Everywhere I go, I must find where the bathroom is!

My Progesterone shot went better this week than last.  Last week, I was itching SO bad at the injection site and suffered from 3 straight days of excruciating headaches.  So far, this week has been much smoother.  I can feel some itching from the shot, but I’m trying to leave it alone so that it doesn’t start itching more.  And, headaches?  Haven’t had one all week!  Hallelujah!

Doctor’s Appointment? Yes – I go back to my Peri this Thursday.  I am a little anxious to see what my cervix is measuring.

Weight Gain? 10 pounds

Maternity Clothes – My Mom and I went on a little shopping trip this past week and we picked up a pair of super skinny jeans from Motherhood.  I never thought I’d be wearing skinny jeans while I was pregnant, but they actually look really cute!  They look great with my boots over them and a long top.

Baby Preparation?  Allison introduced me to Zulily so now I get daily updates on the sales they are having.  I love these onesies that they featured a few days ago…

I want them all, they are just so cute (especially, the “so worth the wait” one!)  Taylor IS so worth the wait!

  1. So glad you hear you are doing well. You look great! I took the progesterone shots when I was pregnant with Grady. Keep an eye on your itching. Mine got progressively worse each week until I finally had whelps on my hiney. Turns out, because it is a compounded drug, I was allergic to some preservatives or byproducts in the injection. I had to travel to a local hospital where they make their own using a very "clean" technique and buy it myself. I had no adverse reactions to those. Just a heads-up. Hope you won't have the same problem. Praying for you and Taylor!

    Love,
    Tonya

  2. So glad all continues to go well. I can so relate to the itching butt - lol. I find myself even a few days after rubbing the sight without even being aware. Good luck and hooray for 23 weeks! One more week until viability. I just hit 24 weeks and it was quite an emotional milestone.

  3. I'm a lurker of your blog since you were pregnant with the green beans. I conceived my daughter through IVF and I too had an allergic reaction to the progesterone in oil. To help, ice the spot up before the shot and massage the area as soon as the injection is complete. Sometimes that will help distribute the meds and keep the site from itching and swelling as badly. Good luck!
