30 Week Update!

How many weeks? Guess who’s 30 weeks along?  Me! Can you believe it?!?

Taylor is now over 3 pounds and 16 inches long!  She’s an active little girl too.  I think God has blessed me with a busy girl so that I am constantly being reminded by her kicks that she is doing well.

30.2

How am I feeling?   As weird as this sounds, I am feeling better and better every day!  Of course, I am still feeling all of those good ole pregnancy symptoms, but I am SO HAPPY to have reached my 30 week mark.  I’m going strong and feel really great!

I’m lightening up a little and worrying less.  This past week I went on a week long business trip.  I was nervous to travel, fly, be away from home and Josh, etc., etc., but it all went really well.  I was able to keep up but I was careful not to over do things.  I am really happy I made the decision to go.

Doctor’s Appointment? My last and final Peri appointment is in 2 weeks.  It’s weird to think that that will most likely be my last ultrasound, so the next time I see Taylor, it will be in the flesh!

Weight Gain? Still 17 pounds.  Maybe 18 after I finish the piece of cake that I am chowing down on right now :)

Maternity: I now know what people were talking about when they said that they started growing out of some maternity clothes!  My hips are spreading and everything is filling out, so my super cute maternity jeans are getting much tighter and less comfortable.  Some of the other pants (that don’t have the big maternity panel) are also getting tight around the waist.  When you were pregnant and your hips spread?  If so, did they go back to normal afterward?  I sure hope they do!

Baby Preparation? Baby preparation is in full force around here!  I am loving it!  My parents are also having fun buying Taylor little things and getting prepared to watch her one day a week.  The nursery is ALMOST finished too.  I should have pictures within the next few weeks.

  1. This is yet again another milestone! It must feel amazing to have your little taylor knowing she's safe. You shouldn't worry about your hips. As far as I've been told they do go back to somewhat normal but your a women a mother be proud of your curves. :)
Your looking great with your bump and I can't wait to see the coming posts.

  5. I got very curvy with both of my babies...definitely in my hips too. I gained around 28-30 pounds each time...and it all came off quickly (8 weeks the first time...6 weeks the next time). I have always had to watch my diet and exercise to stay in shape...but not after having a baby...I was so busy taking care of the baby and breastfeeding to worry about food/exercise...so it just melted away. I'm sure you'll be the same way. My hips got A LOT bigger while pregnant...then a couple months later, voila they were gone! :) One time I got so fed up with some maternity pants at work that I slit that stinkin' panel with some scissors...it felt sooooo much better. I definitely outgrew a lot of my maternity clothes. I always thought it would be hard to lose weight after a baby...but I had 0 trouble...breastfeed if you can, it really helps! I ended up slightly lighter than I started after each baby while breastfeeding. You look awesome. congrats on reaching 30 weeks!

  6. PS! I read a comment on Ashley's blog, I wish I can come to the baby shower, BUT, I am kinda far away and I just dont have a reliable car to get that far. But I cant wait to read about your baby shower and see pictures! I still am bummed I didn't have my real one. Thats okay!

ALSO, main reason I am writing. I posted on Ashley's as well about it. DEF, try and use the SWADDLING with baby Taylor! I so wish I had done it with Sadie, but by the time I went out and tried it to get her to sleep well, it was TOO late, and she was screaming and thought wt high heavens is this thing! I bought two and I ended up giving to a friend down here at her baby shower who is due in 3 weeks!

But, I wish I stuck with it. My sister, our babies are 2 weeks apart and well she stuck with it from day ONE and he has slept through the night VERY early on and is such a good baby sleep wise too. So, I highly suggest trying and sticking with the swaddle me thing! :)

You are moving far along and cant be happier for you!

  7. yay lauren and baby taylor!! :)

    i'm so happy for you.

as for weight/shape/etc...i lost all my baby weight but still feel like i'm shaped a bit different than before kids. not tons, but enough that some of my old clothes just didn't fit right afterward. and i agree, breastfeed if you can...the weight will fall right off and you can still eat a lot! :)

    xoxo.

  8. SO exciting! :) And sadly, my hips definitely spread and they never went back - used wear a size 4 prepregnancy but after having the baby and losing the weight i still couldn't get down to smaller than a 6 -- and yes breastfeeding DOES help shed the weight quicker! women's bodies are amazing!

  11. Yay for 30 weeks! So excited for you guys! :)

I don't know if you've heard this song or not (Michael W. Smith sings it, too), but it goes perfectly with your surrender post. This version is Brian Littrel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1PNhv1iPYI&feature=related I just love the lyrics! And surrendering makes all of the difference - as I am just days away from meeting my miracle girl after being told IVF with ICSI was our only option. No IVF needed though! God is SO amazing!

Blessings on the remainder of your pregnancy! Enjoy!

  12. Thats great that you are to 30 weeks but that is possible because your body is meant to carry one baby and not a bunch.

  13. oh the spreading of the hips! That was one thing I did not expect and it was terrible. It got to a point that I took about 10 minutes to get out of bed....so imagine EVERY time I had to pee I'd lay there and give myself a pep talk. I actually went to the Dr once because I was sure something was wrong. She reassured me it was normal and I just never expereinced it with Tessa. I kept telling my body she wasn't coming out the "traditional" way (I had another c-section) and it could stop spreading but it never listened :) It took about 2 weeks after having Tristin before I was normal again. But as I am sure you feel....I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Gotta love a NORMAL pregnancy!

  15. Lauren, I've silently stalked your blog for a couple of years now. I have a baby girl that will turn a year old on March 25th. I got busy and haven't caught up on all of my blogs until a few weeks ago and was SO excited to find out you were expecting. Congratulations! The reason I decided to comment now was to tell you about Shrinkx Hips....I used it for a few weeks after my baby was born and I'm a believer! I was very skeptical and didn't even use them as often as recommended, but I'm a size smaller now than I was before I got pregnant. Just a thought...good luck on the last few weeks of pregnancy and good luck with your sweet baby when she gets here!
