Just another holiday

Today is Easter and there is so much to be thankful and happy for.  Overall, I am feeling a thousand times better than last year.  As each holiday passes, I am getting more and more used to the idea of not having my Green Beans with me.  Josh and I have found our new normal.  We are settled in.  It’s not too bad of a place to be, but holidays just aren’t as meaningful without children.

We had a great weekend.  Yesterday, we had a fun cookout with our friends.  The weather was PERFECT and we hung out outside ALL day.  I started to realize as I was uploading the pics from this weekend, that I didn’t do a very good job snapping photos.  I guess I was too busy having fun!  I only ended up with about 10 pictures, so here are a few of the highlights.  (Ally, Kelly and Steph - I’ll have to copy your pictures!)

Here is Mike and Josh being silly while playing '”bags” in the backyard.

Today was great too.  First off, Josh cooked ME breakfast this morning.  We had scrambled egg sandwiches (my favorite), and then headed off to church.  After church, Josh, Seven, Romie, and I headed over to my parent’s house to see all the family that was in town.  It was so much fun catching up with everyone.

This evening, I received these pictures from my Blogger buddy, Michelle.  Thank you for thinking of my Green Beans today, you know I LOVE anything made for my babies!

  6. Happy Easter, Lauren! I know what you mean- getting USED to the idea...not happy with the idea of having babies in Heaven and not here growing up. I was thinking about your foursome on Easter and hoping that you were having an okay day. You always bring a smile to my face- thanks for keeping it real and for being an inspiration to me...

    Love,
    Erika

  7. i think i made a typo in my comment- ah well! i meant to say...getting used to the idea of not having our babies here...i don't think we'll ever be "happy" about them not being here- but of course, I AM happy they are in Heaven. I hope that made sense this time!!! It's late- I need to go to bed (obviously!) ;-)

    Love,
    Erika

  9. The holidays are soooo hard. Easter, I think, might be the easiest for me, because I focus on Christ's resurrection and hold tight to the belief that my children are with him in heaven. But it is so hard.

    Hugs, sweet one. Many hugs...
