Welcome to Miami…

We spent this past weekend in Miami.  It was a fun, spur of the moment get-away that we planned since Josh had to work in the area on Monday.

We’ve been fortunate enough to get away for a couple quick trips this summer. It feels a lot like a few years ago (pre Green Beans) when we both traveled a lot for work.  Our jobs took us all over the country.  We had few responsibilities back then and were able to pick up and go when ever.  Since we don’t have living children yet… we figure now's the time to enjoy some kid-free travel before that changes for us.

When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready yet, so we headed to the hotel pool to catch some rays.  The hot tub was surprisingly refreshing even though it was 95 degrees out!

The view from my chair at the pool :)

The room we reserved still wasn’t ready by check-in time, so we got a free upgrade to a condo on the 23rd floor!  Best of all, the condo had a massive balcony that overlooked the park and Biscayne Bay!

On Saturday night, we did a little research for dinner places and ended up at a local Spanish restaurant in the Brickell District called Dolores but you can call me Lolita.  The name of the restaurant first caught my attention, and it ended up being the perfect choice for a dinner out in Miami.  We loved all the decor, the service was great, and the food was just as wonderful!

IMG_7100Each entree came with your choice of an appetizer.  I had the steak salad and Josh had Stuffed Chicken Breast with feta.  We couldn’t decide which entree we liked more.  After dinner we shared a Dulce de Leche pudding for dessert.

Afterwards we drove through South Beach to see the sites.  One of the sites on my list that I had to go see was The Kardashian owned boutique, DASH.  We drove by, but didn’t get a chance to shop.

That wraps up our fun Saturday, but I’ve got more to post about the rest of our Miami weekend…  Stay tuned!
