{Baby Food Recipes} Sweet Potatoes & Carrots

I have  been having a lot of fun making Taylor’s food!  It feels good knowing  exactly what she’s eating and knowing that I made it fresh!  On Thanksgiving day I baked up some fresh sweet potatoes to make her Thanksgiving dinner.

Baby Food Sweet Potatoes is super-duper easy!

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.  Bake for about 45 – 60 minutes, or until soft.

After the potatoes cool enough to handle, peel off the skins.

Break the potato apart and toss into a food processor and blend.

For two potatoes, I added 2 ounces of mixed formula and blended it all to make it smooth and creamy.  You be the judge though, add less or more liquids for the consistency you want.

Dump the baby food into ice cube trays to freeze, then store in freezer bags.  The baby food cubes are best if used within 2 months, so be sure to label your freezer bags with the dates.

{Carrots}

The carrots are so so easy!  Just peel, chop, boil (about 20 minutes), and blend!  Voila!

By the way… 1 bag of carrots ($0.99) made 18 servings of baby food!  That is a savings of over $13.00!  HOLLA!

  3. I usually make apples at the same time I make sweet potatoes. I steam the apples and the juice that is in the bottom I add to the sweet potatoes. It's a great combination!
