21 Week Update

How many weeks? I am 21.6 weeks to be exact!  Taylor is as long as a carrot these days and weighs 1 pound!carrot

I’m a little tardy with this post – we had a rough week.  From Monday through Wednesday, Josh was very ill with a stomach virus.  Then, on Thursday I got it.  It was horrible.  With that said, I did not get around to taking a belly shot this week :(

How am I feeling?  I am feeling good now, but that wasn’t the case yesterday.  Since I got so dehydrated from being sick, I went to the hospital to get some IV fluids.

I was at the hospital for about 2 or 3 hours.  I got 2 bags of fluid and some Zofran for my nausea.  It worked so well!  I am so grateful for my parents who graciously took care of me all day too.  They made being sick bearable.

Doctor’s Appointment? Yes, I had two appointments this week.  My routine OB check up was Wednesday and my OB said to me, “Congratulations, you are having a normal pregnancy!”  Those are great words to hear!!  It’s all I ever wanted! :)

Thursday was my bi-weekly Peri appointment.  My parents came with me this time, and it was their first glimpse at little Taylor.

Weight Gain? As of Wednesday, I had gained 12 hefty pounds.  (I think 6 of the pounds are in my boobs alone!  They are out of control!!)  I asked my doctor about my weight gain, and she said it was perfect.  She said to continue gaining about a pound a week.

As of today, I am down 3 pounds from being so sick.  I’m sure I’ll gain it back soon though… My appetite is coming back!

Baby Preparation?  Yes!  I  just needed a little nudge and a 20% off coupon in the mail was all it took, so the bedding is now ordered!  Once I receive that, I will finalize the wall color and paint the nursery!

Also… a date has been set for my Baby Shower!  So exciting!!

save the date!

I’ll leave you with a poem that was painted on a ceiling tile at my doctor’s office:

When you were born,

you cried.

and the world rejoiced.

Live your life,

so that when you die,

the world cries and you rejoice.

  2. Glad you are feeling better and good choice to go and have an iv to replenish your fluids. I had the flu while pregnant with my first and I know how awful it is. Glad you are on the mend.
ps - I read all the time, I just rarely comment :)

  10. I'm beyond thrilled you're feeling better! My stomach totally dropped when you text that you were at the hospital. Kick that nasty bug out of your house & tell it to stay out for good!

BTW, I love that poem from your doctor's office!
